The one-on-one time available for students from staff is very personable.
Internalized racism, mostly white staff.
I loved how much it saved me money and the professors are typically very friendly but it will not give you the college experience.
Make sure to not slack on work just because it is a community college.
All of my classes were online (after Covid), and even after restrictions were lifted and classes were allowed back on campus, some professors chose to continue teaching online rather than have an in-person class. The online classes weren't the main issue; however, if you choose to only offer online class options, communication with students via email, online meetings, or calls is a must. I found it difficult to reach some of my professors, and especially difficult to contact the office staff and counselors for help. In fact, one semester, my counselor advised me to take a business class that was not even a transferable class or went towards my AA (and she understood I would be transferring to a 4 year.) Overall, the value is there to earn your AA; however, you must be your own guidance counselor, which can be a challenge when you're fresh out of high school and trying to learn the college ropes.

I am a "school from home" student and I love how easy everything is! Everyone is very engaged and attentive.
Be aware of making your own study schedule can be difficult.
I took primarily online classes, and I did appreciate how helpful some of the instructors were when it came to understanding assignments and lessons. Taking classes online at RCC allow you to have a pretty flexible schedule, and the work load isn't too much to handle.
I did find it difficult to get in contact with the library, or anyone at the front desk, and I did find them condescending from time to time, but once you get past those people, the instructors are very helpful.
The teachers, staff, and students go above and beyond to answer your questions and address your ideas. I feel heard.
So far I haven't found anything I don't like about Rogue community college.
