Are freshmen required to live on campus at Roanoke College?

Freshmen are required to live on campus, as we are a four-year residential campus, with housing guaranteed for all four years at Roanoke. There are currently six residence halls for freshmen to select from depending on their preferences.

Campus life at Roanoke College keeps our students active and engaged all throughout the year. From cheering our varsity teams on, to exciting prizes to be won at weekly bingo, there's an activity for everyone on campus, with events hosted throughout the week and into the weekend! The local area of both the city of Salem and downtown Roanoke surrounding the campus also has plenty to offer from great dining, outdoor exploration, shopping, and entertainment.

Students are able to connect with The PLACE, which is the on-campus center dedicated to helping students find their place through Purpose, Life, And Career Exploration. Staff at The PLACE help students connect with internships and job opportunities in the immediate area, and across the globe by utilizing our robust alumni network. Students can also utilize PLACE to prepare their applications, host mock interviews, review resume and cover letter, and so much more.
