As an online Rio Salado Community College student, I do not get a lot of interaction with the college because I am not physically on campus. I do like, however, the fact that they have online classes available and I can freely time when I want to show up to class for the day because I am not on a restricted schedule. The one part of Rio I do wish to see is more scholarship opportunities through the Maricopa Community Colleges scholarships list.
I do not like the fact that there are not a lot of scholarship opportunities for Rio students through the Maricopa Community Colleges scholarship list as compared to Mesa Community College.
I love the flexibility and community of the online program Rio offers.

I have only taken online courses at Rio Salado College, but my experience has allowed me to achieve my goals. I have not assigned myself a major at Rio Salado College, as Chandler-Gilbert Community College and GateWay Community College are my primary institutions. I have taken Successful College Reading, as well as Careers (SUS231) and Professional Skills (SUS232) in Sustainability in order to complete my Associate in Arts with an emphasis in Sustainability at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. The RioLearn website is organized, with a home tab, syllabus tab, and a tab to access the individual lessons, to name a few. The professors are flexible, such as the case in the sustainability courses, when I contracted COVID-19 and my professor extended the due dates for particular assignments. I ended up achieving A's in all 3 courses to get a 4.0 GPA. I am now planning to take both BIO201 and BIO202 (Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II) in order to submit an application for the Associate in Applied Science in Radiologic Technology program at GateWay Community College. I would like to thank Rio Salado College for a smooth journey to my educational goals so far.
I have yet to find anything about Rio Salado College that I particularly do not like. I think it would be nice though if they (and all other Maricopa Community Colleges) offered textbooks to download (eTextbooks) as opposed to pick-up or mail. I believe this would make my life easier, considering I am using a computer on a regular basis.
I did Rio Salado in a Dual Enrollment format and I thought it made having a backup degree very easy.
The one qualm I have about my experience is how difficult it was to enroll in classes and the software they use for that.
I’m doing dual enrollment classes during high school through Rio Salado, so I’ve never been to the campus or met any of their teachers—but the classes have always been good :)
I can’t think of anything, since, again, I’m doing dual enrollment at my high school.
