The education here, especially the biology program, is great if you want to get an excellent education and enhance it by developing close relationships with your professors. If you want a social life here, your experience is truly what you make it. My best suggestion is to immerse yourself in your studies and become friends with the people within your major because you’ll be spending a lot of time with them.
WHAT I didn’t LIKE
The food here is awful. The Outpost has great options but they are short-staffed and rarely open their normal hours. Stacks are terrible. The food is coated in grease and good luck getting anything other than chicken tenders after 8 pm. Also doesn’t open until 11 on weekends and The Outpost isn’t open on weekends either. I think this is probably because this is a huge commuter school, but it still sucks. If you have the option of choosing where to live DO NOT LIVE IN THE DORMS!!! It is worth the money to live at campus heights or Nittany place. You won’t regret it.
When it comes to Pennsylvania State University, there is nothing really bad to say about it. Everything is straightforward, easy to follow, and every student will enjoy their time here at Penn State Harrisburg. The only different I think will be a matter of individual preferences.
