All staff and faculty are very polite and understanding no matter what circumstances you may be facing. They really have your back if you ask for help.
Sometimes reaching a certain department or person may be difficult. I tried calling many times yet I kept on getting a machine to pick up the phone instead of a human. Not only that, I came out of high school with 2 transcripts. What was the problem? My second transcript had to be manually submitted which wasn't a problem. During this time the school was switching over from WISE to Nexus which really screwed up the school's system in general. I submitted this transcript with 26 credits on July 7, 2021. I gave the school 3 weeks to evaluate this transcript only to know that the Admissions department did nothing with it because of the major back up that they were facing with the switch in system. They told me that it would take 2 months for the transcript to go through. With WISE it would have taken 45 seconds. The consequence that came out of this is that I couldn't sign up for the Nursing program in spring of 2022 because the transcript couldn't go through which had my needed credits. So I ended up taking different classes. Fast forward to late September, early October, I went into the admissions building asking about the status of my transcript. The department told me that they switched back to WISE because Nexus wasn't working nor was it any better than WISE. In October, I finally saw my transcript on my account. Later that month I talked with Academic advising to enroll into the nursing program of spring of 2022 only to be told that I couldn't. Why? Because the application window for the program was September 1st, before my transcript was evaluated. This ultimately pushes my life plans back 6 months. I felt so defeated. My patience and understanding toward the staff of my school was not rewarded. In this endeavor, the school failed me. Just because of a change in system.
Something I loved about Pasco-Hernando State College is how they like to have a ton of events just so that they can be actively engaged with their students!
I haven't had a problem with Pasco-Hernando State College.
Pasco Hernando state college is a small college with multiple locations great for low tuition, smaller classrooms, and easier online courses.
There is no housing, classes are limited.
The staff has been super helpful and has been very communicative.
I completed all of my classes online so I cannot say much about the campus, but the teachers are very pleasant and the online format is effective. Zoom classes are very nice because you still get to interact but from home. Their system is a bit old but very organized and easy to understand.
Please look into the FUSE program. It is a transfer program between PHSC and USF to help certain majors have a better opportunity of transferring.
I like my all my teachers. Everyone is willing to help you if needed. The campus' I visited are nice and easy to get around. I can find everything I need.
I haven't experienced anything that I particularly don't like. But sometimes it's hard to register for certain classes online.
