PLU is the small, private university where caring means more than kindness and consideration - it means a bold commitment to expanding well-being, opportunity, and justice. Our students aren’t afraid to do things differently to leave the world better than they found it. We are a community of seekers, trailblazers, creators, and reformers who know that we can accomplish more together than apart. The PLU experience allows your ambition to blossom into purpose, your skills to sharpen into tools, and your caring to become a transformative force.
These schools are similar to Pacific Lutheran University in key aspects like size, setting, and academics.

I love the community of PLU. I appreciate how everyone is very accepting no matter your race, sexuality, or identity; PLU prides itself on building and strengthening its community.
I don't like how some students and teachers hold institutionalized racist beliefs toward students of color. I believe that to achieve that welcoming status they need to be aware of how they approach certain students.
I think that Pacific Lutheran University does well to create a strong sense of community. It was not the first college on my list, but I feel like I fit in much more than I expected to. The small class sizes and welcoming faculty contributed greatly to this sense of community.
You should be aware that this is not a college you can just breeze through. You need to go in with a plan if you can so that you do not fall behind. Especially with certain programs.
