I enjoy the small size of the OIT Wilsonville campus as I'm not particularly interested in the college social life. I'm here to focus on my education, and I've mostly had great professors who are experienced in and very knowledgeable about their fields. The course material has been very applicable to my own pursuits in software development and coding, so it feels like I'm getting good value out of my time.
WHAT I didn’t LIKE
Your schedule can be unpredictable as course availability can change between terms. Professors come and go, and there's just not a lot of stuff to go around. You need to advocate for yourself a lot if you want the most out of your experience.
I liked the inclusiveness Oregon Tech brought to fellow students. There are many programs and services that can help you excel in your academics. You are also encouraged to get involved consistently. They prioritize getting experience and becoming proficient in their major above all else. They also have programs and services that keep the campus safe from danger and illness. At Oregon Tech, you are sure to be successful from my perspective.
WHAT I didn’t LIKE
The professors and the tutors can have busy schedules at times. On rare occasions, I don't get clarity on a question that I need until the assignment is close to due. There is a stress management course, but when I went to apply for it in the Winter term, one of the professors said the class wasn't being offered. I feel they could improve on the availability of stress and anger management classes. They should also provide shining examples of the most extraordinary students in the university so other students and individuals can garner inspiration from them.
