The professors and coursework are of high value. My program is the A.A.S. in Cyber Defense, and my hands-on coursework from my very experienced professors has taught me much more than I thought I would learn there. The newsletters are also very valuable, the opportunities they present to students have allowed me to travel to DC on an expenses-paid trip directly related to my program of study.
The social life is not great, the campus is usually very quiet. Once you make friends though, it is enjoyable. Also, if you like quiet environments, small class sizes, and nature, then this place is for you.
The campus of Northeast Lakeview College provides an environment that encourages you to succeed and stay focused on mission accomplishment.
Poor Recycling Practices.
Northeast Lakeview College was perfect for a non-traditional student like me who is single parenting and working full time. Class availability was never an issue for me since NLC is part of the alamo colleges and I was able to take courses at any of the campuses. I also really enjoyed all of the hybrid classes that were offered which allowed me to get a live lecture from the comfort of my home.
Enrollment took longer than anticipated. There was a registration hold for something that ought to have been waived since I am military. It took a lot of back and forth between different departments to get the situation handled. San Antonio has a very large military presence. I was really surprised to have encountered this error and that it took so long to correct. I really had to stay on top of the college and keep asking for help to get it corrected. I ended up missing my initial intended start date over an administrative issue which was a bummer. After the issue was corrected, I had no further issues with NLC and was very successful at this school. I share this mostly so others will know to get a jump start to ensure adequate time for class registration in the first semester.
