Louisiana Tech University provides many opportunities for growth in multiple areas. No matter where you go on campus, you will see campus organizations out and hopping around, both religious and otherwise. There's always some kind of activity happening in the Centennial Plaza just outside the dining hall, and you will never have to look for something to do while on campus. There are multiple student lounges residing in buildings for each major which provide snack machines, couches, and very chill study areas. Education-wise, our school has a very advanced compilation of technology, and even though our music school isn't very large, it is very up-to-date and contains a very energetic environment.
Louisiana Tech is on a quarter system, which is different from a semester system and simply means you sign up for classes every quarter (fall, winter, spring, and summer if you choose to do summer school) and it just means renewing certain things each quarter. The only other thing that new students might want to be aware of is making sure to get a meal plan if you plan to be on campus because food is super important in college life.
La Tech is an excellent school overall. I have never felt more at home!
The campus is so far spread out its a little difficult to get across campus as parking is a disaster
I loved Louisiana Tech! I loved the fact that it wasn’t ALL cement on the campus. I loved that it was small enough that you could get to know and talk with the professors. I loved the atmosphere on campus. Having been both a traditional student at one point and a non-traditional student later — I always felt welcome and safe! The school was so nice I attended it twice! #HBTD
The only thing I didn’t like about Tech was the student-to-faculty parking ratio. If that were resolved and students didn’t have to walk 8 blocks to get to class, it would have been much better!
Tech has a gorgeous campus, and the tuition is very low.
If you are going for a degree in any field besides engineering, this school does not invest funds into those programs. Arts programs are underfunded, and teachers are overworked and burnt out.
