Hardin-Simmons University
Candidates who are accepted into our DPT program normally have a pre-requisite course at 3.4 or above with their overall GPA usually at 3.5 or above. We also require each student who applies to at least have 50 hours in the field - but if accepted into the program they must have at least 100 combined observation / volunteer hours in various venues (outpatient, inpatient, acute hospital, home health, skilled nursing, etc.) before we would allow them to start in the new DPT cohort of 40 students each August.

WHAT I LIKED

Hardin Simmons is a very friendly school and the Christian environment makes you feel welcome. It is a relatively small school but that means you can have personal relationships with the professors who are extremely helpful. It is a great university experience.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

The University is small and sometimes one can feel bored. However, making more friends solves this problem quite easily.

WHAT I LIKED

I did not really like that much after my experiences there. The only good thing is it feels like one big family, but that only happens if you get involved.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

The dorms are not great, the food in the cafeteria slacks hard, the material is outdated, and no one on campus pushes for change unless there is alumni asking.
