WHAT I LIKED

I am an online student at FHSU. The history department is extremely dedicated to making sure we are included. Not only do we have an identical curriculum to in-person classes, but we have scholarship opportunities, enjoy events via zoom, and can come present at history conferences in person. It really has been a wonderful experience.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

There are a few GenEd teachers who could put more effort into online classes.

WHAT I LIKED

I was a virtual student and loved the experience! Super easy to follow online courses and done at your own pace. Many opportunities to social network with professors and other online students through the courses and online resources.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Sometimes it was difficult to get the professors to help out with certain issues or concerns based on your own education. Plus, responding to emails could be better.

WHAT I LIKED

I have enjoyed most aspects of FHSU. However, there are a few things that I can say avoid, like the plague. Specifically, if you have to stay in a dorm, avoid McMindes. The food is good, but it can be poor sometimes in the Cafe. Otherwise, most other campus residential buildings are newer, bigger, and better to live in. In terms of Academics, I love FHSU because most professors you have will remember your name and help you when needed. However, you might have to meet with an Academic Advisor, and this meeting will probably only take 5-15 minutes at most each semester. Otherwise, most professors are good besides the few bad apples at every university. Most university facilities are up-to-date or updated in rotations, construction and renovations, and the university is expanding slowly. Overall, the university is good, but a few bad professors, a single bad dorm, and the occasion lousy food.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Definitely, the poor dorm called McMindes and the occasional bad food that gets served. Otherwise, it is a pretty decent place.
