As a first-year commuter at Florida Southern, I didn't really enjoy my experience and always felt very disconnected, as if I didn't even go to the school. Making friends was rather difficult if you were not associated with Greek life or additional sports teams. The one thing that lead me to finish my first year here was the academics. I enjoyed a select hand full of teachers, but I didn't see enough potential to keep me around

I loved being part of the FSC community. I was able to join organizations outside of my major that I was passionate about and that led to incredible opportunities to collaborate with other peers and professors. I double majored, joined multiple organizations, held three part-time admission jobs, and still had time to attend on-campus social events. Every aspect of my college experience gave me the confidence and drive to become a strong leader.

The academics are great and the professors are very caring. However, people of color can tend to feel isolated because it is a predominantly white college.
Campus security is often not proficient in doing its job.
