About

Since 1883, Florida Southern College has empowered students to explore their passion. Students will do more than listen to lectures and cram for exams. They will put their newfound knowledge to work through collaborative research, service learning, internships, and study abroad. Our students appreciate small classes that engage them with hands-on learning under the mentorship of expert faculty ready to guide them every step of the way. Florida Southern College is the oldest private college in Florida, ideally located in historic Lakeland – named one of the best places to live and fastest-growing metropolitan areas. The college maintains its commitment to academic excellence through 70+ undergraduate and distinctive graduate programs in business administration, education, nursing, and physical therapy. Ranked among the nation’s top colleges, FSC is a nationally recognized leader in engaged learning, an instructional approach that encourages student-faculty collaboration. The college guarantees each student an internship and the opportunity to graduate in four years. Our hands-on approach ensures our graduates enter the world equipped with extensive conceptual acuity and real-world experience in practical application. College life isn’t only about what you do in the classroom. Participating in a broad range of life experiences is key to broadening your horizons. Florida Southern is home to more than 100 student clubs and organizations and 12 national fraternities and sororities. FSC has over 20 men’s and women's varsity sports teams and boasts 30 NCAA Division II national championships. Consistently named one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation by The Princeton Review, Florida Southern’s 152-acre campus sits on beautiful Lake Hollingsworth. Our campus is home to the most extensive single-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. It is a National Historic Landmark that welcomes tens of thousands of visitors yearly. In addition to 13 Wright-designed structures, the campus features lavish gardens, lakeside residence halls, and state-of-the-art academic facilities.
