I loved BMCC and it was the best choice.
The opportunity to start your college career with a degree in your first two helps the ongoing college trajectory to excel.
Choose professors wisely.
While nursing is hard the nursing program at MCC prepares its students well for the nclex licensing exam. Most students pass on their first try. They are connected to public hospitals so it opens up an opportunity to work at those hospitals after you graduate.
Sometimes professors can be unhelpful, advisors don’t know the prereqs needed for the nursing program so I would suggest speaking to the nursing program directly.
My favorite thing about BMCC is the teachers. I was lucky to find passionate and supportive teachers. They all have unique ways of teaching; if you need help or extension, all you have to do is reach out and ask. They have many great and supportive programs like BLA. Members get assigned to an advisor. My advisor was great! he supported me, pushed, gave me options, and always made sure that I could register for the semester early on. My classmates were passionate. Everyone knew what they wanted and did their best to get it.
Everyone's experience is different; I don't have anything I hate. But my advice will be to register for classes early and join programs like BLA or Asap; these programs help with advisors, MetroCards, seminars, etc... Rate your professor.
They offer many joint programs with CUNY’s senior college as long as you meet the requirements to enter into the BA programs.
I couldn’t really say, overall a good school to start your educational career.
Borough of Manhattan Community College has a very beautiful and big campus. We have a variety of clubs and amazing teachers who truly care about their students. Online and in-person classes are available and plenty of recourses in different fields of interest.
Commuting from my place of residence is not very convenient.
