Overall, great. Lacks diversity, but has excellent academics.
There is almost no diversity. It might be difficult to adjust if you identify as a non-white individual.
I like the facilities available to us as Physics majors. By that I mean we are free to use class labs outside of class for most of the week, the library is open to me 24/7, and everything I need on campus is within a 2 minute bike ride of each other which I love.
I think there could be more effort put into giving students fresh food; it always tastes like it was just reheated.
Cal Poly has been one of the best decisions I have made. I wake up proud that I go here and happy to start my day. Classes can be difficult but they are rewarding.
The food could be better. Accessibility to more options would be nice. It gets pretty monotonous.
Cal Poly is a little pocket of magic. You work hard, and you play hard. Everyone is motivated to succeed in and out of school, and everyone knows how to have a good time. Nature rules!
I picked Cal Poly because it is at a beautiful location and its motto, “learn by doing.” I was lucky enough to find good friends here which made student life somewhat better. I do not have many positive things to say about campus life or academics.
Cal Poly is excellent in providing resources for its students. The Learn By Doing Motto sets and prepares its students for success in the real world.
Many recruiters come in and out of campus looking for students to intern with them. It helps its students be aware of the opportunities they have and students are able to test out their interests within these internships.
