Black Hills State University
Hi Briana, Thanks for reaching out! We do have a 2 year live-on requirement for freshmen and sophomores. Freshmen are required to live in one of our five residence halls while sophomores are allowed to apply to live in one of our campus apartments. After that, students are able to live wherever they like!

Are your BHSU's scholarships based on merit or financial need?
Black Hills State University
Hi Gennah! Thank you for your question. We have an automatic scholarship where we take into account your unweighted GPA and standardized test score. This will qualify you for $1,000 - $4,000 per year. We have other scholarships from donors that vary in requirements but you can apply for all of these by filling out the "New Student App" here: https://www.bhsu.edu/Admissions/Pay-for-College/Scholarships/

Black Hills State University
Great question, Breanna! Each undergraduate credit for on-campus courses costs $253.85 for in-state students and $357.25 for out-of-state students. We also do charge additional "Discipline Fees" for the type, of course, you are enrolled in. You can find more details about these fees at the bottom of our Tuition and Fees page here: https://www.bhsu.edu/admissions/pay-for-college/tuition-and-fees/#tab_1-undergraduatetuitionpercredithour
