Selecting classes for the next semester can be hard, but some classes are offered online. This really helped me get the class times and teachers I wanted for different classes that I wanted to take.
Sometimes there weren't a lot of food options in the dining hall because it was late or changing between lunch and dinner. Sometimes the POD would be out of microwavable food so that can be hard when trying to get something to eat before or after class.
It is a nice, small campus where you get to cooperate and come close with peers
The food isn't great but other than that I recommend the school
There's always good professors, and then there's always the ones you're warned about. Frankly, a great percentage of the professors here are really good! Also, rate my professor is a lie. You can use it to gauge what the professor does and how they run their class, but do not use it to pick out which professor is best. Choose one that's best for you. You'd be surprised at how many professors are actually good at their job, but go unnoticed.
Be aware of the dining hall, sometimes the options are mediocre and food poisoning is always a factor to consider. If you want something safe, consider the excellent stir-fry station, the sandwich station, and their soup station. They also have vegan options, thankfully. But other than that, their food is diverse (when they have the option).
I have been attending ASU for a little over a year and I love it! all of my professors are funny, outgoing, and really good teachers. the workload isn't too much and I'm able to get my work done in a timely manner. There are also so many resources available if you need assistance with anything at all. Also, there's always something on campus going on that encourages students to engage with one another socially and create new friends.
There isn't anything to dislike about the west campus. The campus is absolutely stunning and the building is well maintained and taken care of. The only problem I feel is that ASU charges students for almost everything.
How small and connected the campus is.
There aren't many teachers for each subject, which causes scheduling issues.
This campus is very pretty and peaceful, it's much smaller than the main campus in Tempe but it's not lacking in quality. The campus itself is very green and has a lot of areas for any students looking to study in nice and relaxing environments, both inside and outside. ASU-West has its own events and activities that go on and makes it feel like its own separate university. While I have never lived in campus dorms at ASU-West, I have not heard anything bad from those that have lived at the dorms. This school is mostly geared towards new college degrees which would include some of the various fields of psychology. Overall, ASU-West is a lovely campus that does not make students feel like they are traveling miles between every class.
Parking is minimal on the ASU-West campus and the price of the parking passes is relatively high.
