Growing up as a Pakistani girl in a predominantly white area, I always felt like an outsider. I felt as if no one wanted to help me. I felt alone. Getting good grades was a great accomplishment for me because I proved to myself that being different was not a disadvantage, and I could help others in the future if I applied myself. I want to be a medical doctor; I am passionate about the health care field and helping others, so they never have to feel like I did. I consider myself a great candidate because I have worked hard when others told me I would amount to nothing. I believe I deserve a chance at a great education at an affordable cost.
