My name is Jacklynn and I am a senior at Western Dubuque High School. Here in school I am very involved with the athletics, as I am involved in cross country, cheerleading, track, and weight lifting. I was not always this involved with them though. I used to be involved with everything in the arts; bands, choir, art club, drama, and theater. All the way up until my sophomore year, then I had surgery on my ankle and I found my passion for running and found my path to my future plans. Through out this experience I learned work ethic and how to push through constant injuries. My coaches always tell me how they love "my story" and how I persevere through any challenge thrown at me. I am forever grateful for starting to run as it has made me who I am. My freshman year I was lazy and did not have much passion. Now I have a drive and desire to achieve my goals. I also learned that I wanted to go into the medical field from my surgery. Being around all of my doctors and the other staff sparked an interest in me. I went home and starting researching different medical fields and fell in love with neurology.
