I am gritty, I persevere. I work hard at whatever I do, whether I'm good at it or not, and in the end, I'll make sure I get better at it. When I first started running, I was living in Illinois. It was summer, and the sun was hot and the air was dry. I was running with my dad, but out of exhaustion, I started to fall behind. But I couldn't let him get away, I had to do better. I kept on trying and trying, but in the end, it was too much and I collapsed. After that, I must admit I was scared of running; yet, I wouldn't let that keep me down. Eventually, I got back to running, and not only that, but I kept at it. Years later, I became one of the best runners on one of the best high school teams in the state of Florida. This mindset doesn't only stick to running, however. You can see it reflected in my academics, my extracurriculars, and even my hobbies as well. If I can pay for my education, it will not let it go to waste. I refuse to squander time and money by leaving college empty-headed; I'll work hard, I'll become better, and ultimately, I'll apply what I've learned in order to succeed and help others succeed too.
