Our story
This scholarship fund is set up to honor the life and memory of our beloved mother (and grandmother), Adrienne Lee. As a Tuskegee University Nursing School graduate (1977) and Troy University Master's in Nursing graduate (1993), her illustrious career as a RN spanned over 30 years, using her gifts in numerous professional and service-related capacities. The majority of her work was done at the Tuskegee Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital, where she served as a Staff Nurse, Head Nurse, and Nursing Officer of the Day. In addition to her work at the VA, she was a mentor to numerous young nurses, having served as an instructor in the esteemed Tuskegee University School of Nursing & Allied Health. Whether serving her patients, colleagues, family members/friends, students, or church community, her empathy, compassion, intentionality, and professionalism were evident to all.
Her earthly pilgrimage ended victoriously on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023.
Our goal
The Adrienne Lee Memorial Nursing Scholarship seeks to support the next generation of nurses by awarding undergraduate students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) pursuing a career in nursing. All donations to this fund are fully tax-deductible and will go directly to scholarship recipients.
